P.S Talisman

The P.S copper talisman calls upon your authentic self while symbolizing the unification of primitive instincts and modern knowledge. The design is an interpretation of the "Persona" and "Shadow" and features a peaceful face looking up and the body is an open reptile-like mouth. Viewed from the side it looks like a prehistoric jaw.

THE STORY

The Persona & Shadow Self, coined by Carl Jung: The “PERSONA” is the mask we put on and present to the world while the “SHADOW” is the parts of self we keep hidden deep within.

Sometimes we disguise our true feelings by presenting a false identity. Whether it's a survival technique or a way of fitting in, it can lead to disconnect within ourselves. We begin seeing ourselves as two separate entities which damages the ability to examine true wants, desires, and motivations and can lead to addictions, misdirection, confusion, and unhappiness. The shadow self is not necessarily monstrous, it’s simply the underbelly of our psyche that we must trek through to extinguish bad habits.

It's my intention that when wearing this you are reminded to face your whole self with honesty to ignite healing, inner peace and self love. Use this talisman as an expression of self unification so your dark traits will never have control over you. The possibilities for transformation, creativity, healing, and wholeness are endless. 

The open mouth depicted in the design is similar to the shadow self - it seems scary but actually represents positive unseen qualities. 

WAYS TO USE

This wearable art heirloom was made for you. The pendant can be worn as jewelry around the neck or used as a talisman for it’s grounding properties. Talismans are worn or kept on you in your pocket or bag similar to a crystal. This also can be displayed or framed as home/office decor.

COPPER TIDBITS

Copper naturally reacts to it’s surrounding environment and will change color over time due to the exposure of the elements such as oxygen, water, heat, and pressure. Copper darkens, browns, or can develop green/blue patina spots. No two pieces will age the same. Metal polishing cloths will help clean, brighten, and shine the raised surface areas of the piece. The crevices are harder to reach with the cloth. Check out the Copper 101 page for additional cleaning tips. 

Once shipped the piece may continue to change slightly in color but can be shined with the metal polishing cloth that’s included.
